Make the emotion your enemy and it will beat you every time. But surrender to the emotion and it will pass naturally.
Emotions are not meant to be resisted. If they are resisted, then they become chronic, but they are meant to ebb and flow, like waves on a beach. Feel what you feel when you feel it, without judgement or control, however uncomfortable it feels in your body, and it will pass.
