CHANGE YOUR STATE BY CHANGING YOUR BODY!
Fisting hands exercise - noticing your breathing and thoughts
Sit on a chair with an open body (everything uncrossed) for a couple of minutes. Keep your eyes open and look either straight ahead or upwards. Notice how you feel in your body. Is there any tension? Is your thinking positive or negative? Once you have completed the above, close your eyes and fist your hands. Keep clenching your fists tighter and tighter for a couple of minutes. Notice how you feel in your body. Is there any tension? Is your thinking positive or negative? Has your breathing changed?
Relax your hands, open your eyes and allow your breathing to return to normal.
What do you understand about this exercise?
Essentially when you clench your fists, your fear state is activated (your body leading your mind) and your thoughts will inevitably turn negative. To turn off that state is easy, but you need to have the awareness first. When you open your body again your thoughts would naturally become more neutral or positive, as the fear state is extinguished naturally.
