Is worrying a risky business?

If you wanted a write a book, a productive outcome could readily be achieved by the following cycle:

· I want to write a book (thought)

· I would select a topic, decide chapters, style etc. (plan)

· I would write the book (action)

· I would critique the book and edit before publishing (reflect)

Whereas in contrast, if your worry is controlling you, the cycle would look very different. Worry disables the learning process and would produce something like this:

· I want to write a book (thought)

· I would select a topic, decide chapters, style etc. (plan)

· I would worry about how the book will be received and doubt myself and my abilities to write a book. I would visualise failing and perhaps owing money rather than making money (worry as an action)

· I would critique the book I never wrote and feel glad that I did not put myself through the pain of failure (reflect)

Worry may have prevented the pain, which came from an illusion anyway, BUT the worry also prevented success. Just imagine if J.K. Rowling would have allowed worry to intervene. What a waste?! And can you imagine a world without Harry Potter?!

Everything that you have around you or are using right now came initially from a thought which someone acted on. If everyone listened to their worry, you would have nothing: no mobiles, laptops, sofas or chairs, even houses or cars.

· WORRY IS DISABLING

· WORRY IS HOLDING YOU BACK

· WORRY DISEMPOWERS YOU

· WORRY IS DAMAGING

· WORRY HAS DISASTEROUS CONSEQUENCES

Think about the big or small things that you are currently worrying about; are you afraid of success or failure? Give yourself a chance! Bite the bullet!

CONFRONT YOUR FEAR AND WATCH THE FEAR DISSIPATE. THE REST OF THE WORLD MAY THANK YOU FOR IT ONE DAY!

And if not, the future you, definitely will!

One of the main issues about worry is that you cannot accurately reflect or learn from the cycle, so that any learning that takes place, is from something that never actually happened! You need to experience something to be able to reflect on reality and gain the learning.

Remember worry increases attachment to people and things and will ultimately repel any of your desires!
